The site is divided into four layers from west to east, expressed as slightly radiuses line, the first layer being a physical barrier to the noise from the road that runs along the western boundary.
The architectural language is totally modern and the design process is explained in terms of rational responses to site and climate, but ultimately the house is a visually delightful place with a myriad different moods and emotions. The …

The Dangle-Byrd House set on a wooded five-acre site in rural Pennsylvania, designed by Koko Architecture + Design. The house utilizes a material consciousness to engage the neighboring handcrafted Amish farm buildings. The house consists of three interlocking volumes. While each volume is very simple in its form, the exchange between them allows for a wide variety of spatial experiences.
The first impression one has is that the house is two “shadow-boxes” connected by a “bird cage”. However, as you enter the house the perceptions change. From the interior, the cage …

The 20,960 sqm building project stands out through an architecture where wood predominates, both in the structural elements and the façade coverings. This building located towards the lower part of the site, at the edge of a spruce and larch wood, the buildings fade into the vegetation. The project’s main challenge consists in inserting, within the landscape, the large superstructures that are necessary to the trees’ growth. The plan, in the shape of a trefoil cross, is covered with a set of centrings made of glued-laminated timber with stainless steel …

From there another couple of steps lead to a comfortable area where one can lounge on the sofa or chaise lounge overlooking the swimming pool and enjoying the marvellous view over the city. …

The house has a steel frame that was welded on-site prior to being shot-blasted and finished with a two-part epoxy paint system. This is one of the …

The House 6 is modern concrete house projected by famous Brazilian architect Marcio Kogan. The veranda of House 6, nonetheless, still remains an open space and, simultaneously, opens to the garden and the pool. It is a living room, a TV room and an extension of the internal kitchen. This space, then, structured the entire architecture of the house, organized in two transversal volumes and an annex in the back that holds a home office. The lower volume houses the utilities, the kitchen and the living room with door-frames that …
